POSITION PURPOSE:

The Overnight Router uses the Roadnet software to plan optimal truck loading and delivery schedules and enhance route quality based on analytical assessment.  The Router works a scheduled period of time that will generally be 8pm to 2am.  While the Router will require some in-person training, the work can ultimately be done remotely from home.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create optimal truck routing plan for a portion of our field locations using the Roadnet routing optimization tool (which is auto-populated with orders each night at 9 pm). Communicate the daily routing plan with each assigned location’s leadership, loaders, and drivers by email. Demonstrate critical thinking skills by enhancing route quality specifically to each Reddy Ice location. Use analytical skills to identify route shortfalls and improvement areas to execute on the fly; share long-term opportunities for improvement with supervisor. Problem solving skills are critical to identify and investigate routing issues to optimize the customer experience, fleet utilization and labor costs. Evaluate complex issues and identify process improvement opportunities. Discuss and review solutions with the National Routing Manager and Lead Routers. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management. Adhering to the Code of Business ethics is essential. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma required, some college preferred
• 2 years of Roadnet/Omnitracs experience (or comparable platform)
• Mathematic Competency to Update Route KPIs
• Basic experience with Microsoft Suit (Excel, Outlook, Word)

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position primarily works in a typical office environment, is generally sedentary, and uses computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment. Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships and reason through complex business situations is essential. This position is a remote position and requires you to have reliable internet service connection at home.
