Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Reddy Ice Fleet Manager is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Supply Chain/Logistics in managing the heavy duty fleet, and is responsible for the light duty and material handling fleets to help ensure the fleet is safe, optimized, maintained, and accounted for at the correct locations, and at the optimal cost/productivity levels.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the day-to-day management and optimization of the HD (Heavy Duty) fleet. Responsible for managing and optimizing the LD (Light Duty) and MHE (Material Handling Equipment) fleets.  This includes interacting with the field to determine needs, negotiating with suppliers to source equipment, and resolving mechanical, billing and/or other issues.  Collaborate with field and OCS management on deployment.  Oversee equipment movement process to manage transfers, refurbishments, new equipment leases and purchases, and equipment sales/dispositions.
  • Help manage our telematics platform and hardware, and other supplier databases to ensure all vehicle and equipment information is accurately inventoried in systems.
  • Assist the Regional Logistics Managers (RLM’s) in managing the master fleet information.
  • Assist with planning and budgeting.
  • Manage and administer licensing, tolls, and citations for the HD and LD fleet.
  • Assist with collecting data and providing requested reports.
  • Partner with accounting and suppliers to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Supply Chain/Logistics in creating processes, best practices, and SOP’s.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Typical office environment, generally sedentary position using computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment. This position works in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex business situations is essential. A valid drivers license and acceptable MVR is required due to this position’s minimal travel requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of experience managing and/or operating fleets
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent strategic initiatives, work under pressure with challenging deadlines while delivering high quality results
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Track record of strong organization and follow-through
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and project teams
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to field personnel
