Job Description

Position Purpose:

This position supports the Company’s growth strategy by providing planning and analytical support to the Reddy Ice Mergers and Acquisitions team. Prepares M&A prospect analysis and analyzes potential new business opportunities. Exercises financial due diligence, supports financial modeling, research, identifies potential acquisition targets, and strategic analysis. Provides recommendations for continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports acquisition analysis and modeling. Ensures all strategic and financial implications are analyzed and the company’s potential market share and profitability are maximized.
  • Performs strategic and quantitative analysis (business, asset, and financial evaluation) and understands appropriate valuations and structures of potential ventures.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial models, business valuations and other materials to be used in presentations and as support for deal processes.
  • Conducts industry and company specific due diligence and research in support of transaction activities and new business.
  • Participates in due diligence projects to compile, organize, and assess information, strengths, risk, ROI, ROR, NPV analysis, etc. for potential M&A transactions or similar opportunities.
  • Participates in comprehensive analyses, proposals, presentations, financial models, negotiation strategies and terms, and other work to support potential M&A, joint venture transaction or similar activities.
  • Provides effective project management and transactional support for deals from initiation to close.
  • Organizes, manages, (and supports) project plans and transition plans related to new ventures.
  • Supports all integration and change management efforts to ensure a smooth phase-in of an acquired company, joint venture setup, or a divestiture.
  • Develops and maintains competitive assessment of key acquisition targets with direction from manager.
  • Assist in the definition of key value drivers and identification of risks, and assesses baseline of current operational actions required.
  • Works closely with the finance team to prepare financial analyses and budgets.
  • Identifies opportunities and risks; assists in providing detailed supporting deal analyses.
  • Supports acquisition, analysis, and integration efforts in project team sessions, process reviews, and other meetings or forums as necessary or as assigned.
  • Tracks and monitors performance versus budget and Company goals.
  • Assesses overall performance of analysis and integration and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Makes and assumes other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

Internal: CFO, CEO, COO, SVP, VP Business Development, Sales, CAO, Regional Vice-Presidents, local Operations teams, Finance, HR, IT, Procurement, Legal

External: Industry associations, Consultants (legal, accounting, tax, environmental, real estate)

Operating Responsibilities:

Provides functional and technical support across several of the acquisition lifecycle disciplines to include policy analysis and financial analysis integration. This includes evaluating market opportunity and key industry trends, developing and executing the strategy, and integration process.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Education and Experience:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Outstanding complex project management skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to multi-task in order to meet aggressive deadlines and budgets.
  • Expert MS Office skills, including advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong financial modeling, financial analysis, and business valuation experience.
  • Demonstrates analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: 

Typical office environment, generally sedentary position using computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment. Weekend and evening work may be required. Up to 25% travel is required; a valid driver’s license and MVR is required. This position works in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and reason through complex business situations is essential.
