Job Description

At Reddy Ice, we are working toward a vision of becoming North America’s “Total Ice Solution.” The RRM is primarily responsible for routing, field execution of routing, and fleet optimization – across the region. The RRM will partner with the RVP, the corporate supply chain team, and leadership at the hubs and locations to drive reduced distribution cost and improved customer satisfaction. The RRM will ensure that distribution is conducted efficiently and safely – in compliance with all state, federal and corporate guidelines and policies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Lead routing design and execution across region, with ongoing optimization to reduce both stops and out-of-stocks 2. Partner with regional leadership on improvement 3. Collaborate with corporate supply-chain team and RRM’s from other markets on system-wide routing improvements and sharing of best practices 4. Support field execution of and compliance with routing plans; refine plans as required 5. Support optimization of, and right-sizing of, fleet at each location, driving toward the “magic number” of vehicles in accordance with routing plan 6. Work with locations across region on continuous improvement (will need to be in person, so travel to locations is required) 7. Report on and manage to metrics / KPI’s – including under-service, over-service, skipped stops, unscheduled stops, fleet differential from “magic number” 8. Control costs of distribution expenses across the region (e.g. delivery labor, vehicles, transfer costs / third party transport, supplies, maintenance, utilities…) 9. Train and develop staff throughout the region 10. Assure high standard of Safety is maintained according to corporate policy. 11. Complete additional tasks to support the business (e.g. support of sales reps, development of budget) 12. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned. 13. Lead initiatives to reduce cost and improve customer service. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Coaching relationships with CSM’s, Dispatchers, GM’s and other field personnel EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  College degree preferred.  5 or more years experience with operational management of warehouse or distribution center.  Min. 2 yrs. experience in ice business or related food production industry.  Understanding and ability to think and manage strategically across multiple sites/locations.  Demonstrated ability with reducing costs, improving processes, managing change and people to continuously improve and grow an operation.  Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management.  Strong people leadership skills, demonstrated team building and motivational competencies.  Must have valid driver’s license & good driving record. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  50% - 75% travel.  Must be able to lift 40lb easily.  Conditions vary from normal office conditions to all areas inside and outside of plant. Exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations, ammonia and heavy moving equipment.
