Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary function of a service technician is to repair, perform preventative maintenance, and install operational Reddy Ice Systems and equipment including related components. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Responsible for addressing the service issue that was reported.

a)    All technicians must be neat in appearance and be in the company provided uniform.

b)    The technician should enter the location carrying their ladder and tools on every service call.

c)    The technician should locate the manager of caller and inform them of their presence.

d)    If the call pertains to water of any type, the technician must attempt to clean it up while ensuring the area has been designated as a potential hazard area.  This means placing floor hazard signs around the unit.

2.    The technician is also responsible for identifying other service related issues during the initial assessment of the system while checking every component from the ice makers to the merchandisers.

3.    The technician must ensure that the system functioning appropriately before leaving the customers’ location. 

4.    The technician must complete the designated service report and submit for processing.

5.    The technician must perform the necessary duties of the retail merchandiser in order to maximize the production of ice for the customer.

6.    The technician will check out with the manager or caller and inform them of the Ice Factory’s performance status and ice level.

7.    The technician will report back to the dispatcher to inform them about the service completion and their ability to receive and service another call.

9.    Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

External:    Retail Store Management      

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repair; perform preventative maintenance and installation of Reddy Ice Systems. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

-    HVAC certificate preferred
-    Electrical and Plumbing experience preferred
-    Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
-    High School Diploma and/or equivalent
