Job Description


This role is responsible for achieving customer satisfaction by managing installations, preventive maintenance, and servicing of Reddy Ice In-Store Bagging (ISB) equipment installed at customers’ location(s). Working in close coordination with the Director, Field Equipment Services, this role will provide strategic direction and tactical oversight for field teams and refurb facilities.


Hire, train, coach, performance manage, and review the Project Manager, Field Services. Provide ongoing training and support to Field Equipment Service Managers in a dotted-line relationship.  Create a positive culture that makes Reddy Ice a great place to work.

Manage and lead the end-to-end ISB operations and processes; plan for asset installations/removals and servicing (estimated 3500 ISBs), and monitor and report on financial performance.

Create and execute the overall field equipment service strategies and tactics that support Reddy Ice’s customer service, financial, quality, and operational objectives.

Develop and manage a “demand-driven” process of purchasing new equipment and repairing existing equipment in accordance with customer demand/forecast.

Track and assure our ISBs are yielding the designed EBITDA per asset.

Collaborate with IT and other internal partners to develop and continuously improve the tools, processes and systems used by the field equipment service team. This includes parts management, handhelds and other IT systems and reporting functions, repair tools, etc. Develop ongoing training for Retail Merchandisers and Field Equipment Service Technicians on preventive and major ISB equipment maintenance programs.

Manage the budget for OCS Field Equipment Operations. Analyze and forecast relevant budgets and impact to P&L targets. Conduct financial analyses to understand variances, deviations, and overall performance and calculate financial metrics. Perform root-cause analyses to understand and improve drivers of financial performance.

Provide the annual end-to-end capital requirements of a demand driven process in collaboration with commercial and operational teams.

Utilize lean thinking, principles and tools to improve employee effectiveness and utilization to ensure labor budgets are met.

Collaborate with the Commercial team with recommendations for field equipment placement/removal project plans.  Ensure that projects are completed on-time and within budget.

Establish Daily, Weekly and Monthly KPI’s to ensure the department meets its operational and financial goals.
